Chicken Runner, the Seed of an Idea!

Earlier this year my Mother, Sister and I were fortunate enough to enjoy the generosity of my friend Bill.  Bill is one of those people that says you can use my timeshare anytime and means it!  So for Mom’s birthday Laur and I decided to plan a week in Williamsburg, VA,  of course this kind of trip would have to include outlet and antique shopping!

During one of those outings I spied a really cool table runner.  I thought Mom would love it, too.  So I checked on the price and found we could get two for just a few dollars more…score!!!! Well, after that we went on a chicken hunt to create a tablescape featuring these tags, cards and coasters from Michael’s.

So, table runner in hand the search for the perfect chicken surged forward!!  Some chickens turned out to be roosters, some were too “realistic”, there were others that were garish and those that were monochromatic.DSCN2840

The lucky winner came dressed in basic black with white polka dots and a little red for a pop of color!!

Now if we can find accessories with a farmyard theme…there will be a whole tablescape!

Gone to look for piggy salt and pepper shakers,

  1. Love your black chicken! I think decorating in the kitchen with farm animals is always charming.
